Yes, but what is it?

The Not-So-Silent Auction is a lively evening of friendly competition, fantastic prizes, and spirited bidding, all in support of the Herschel Parents' Association and the many initiatives it champions across our school and wider community.

How does it work?

At 6:00pm on Thursday 10 September 2026, we'll have a list of incredible prizes, generously donated by local businesses and Herschel families, on display in the School Hall in the prep school. To bid, simply write your name and amount on the sheet next to your chosen item. Keep an eye on your favourites and make sure you're at the top when the final countdown begins! To close the night, a handful of standout lots will go under the hammer in a fun, live auction led by our entertaining auctioneer.

Will there be food, drink & a good party?

Yip, absolutely. Your ticket includes delicious food, complimentary non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, plus an evening of dancing, laughter, and incredible prizes, all while helping make a meaningful difference to our school.

Where does the money raised go?

Every bid placed on the night will help fund a range of important projects and programmes, including improvements to the Prep School's infrastructure, Herschel learnerships, community outreach programmes such as Dinner of Hope and Zonnebloem Girls' School, and events that bring our parent community together. This year, a portion of the funds raised will also contribute towards the Senior School STEM Building, helping bring this exciting multi-year project to life.
