Yes, but what is it?
The Not-So-Silent Auction is a lively night of friendly competition, fantastic prizes, and strategic bidding all in support of our school’s infrastructure, community, bursary, and charity projects. Think good food, great friends and amazing prizes!
How does it work?
At 6:30pm on Thursday 10 September 2026, hundreds of incredible prizes—generously donated by local businesses and Herschel families—will be on display in the School Hall in the prep school.
To bid, simply write your name and amount on the sheet next to your chosen item. Keep an eye on your favourites and make sure you're at the top when the final countdown begins! To close the night, a handful of standout lots will go under the hammer in a fun, live auction led by our entertaining auctioneer.
Will there be food, drink & a good party?
Yip, absolutely. Your ticket includes wonderful food prepared by an executive chef, a DJ who'll fire things up for an afterparty, and the chance to dress up to the theme of 'Boots & Bling'! Drinks will also be complimentary on the night.

What Your Support Makes Possible
All funds raised through the auction go directly to the Herschel Parents' Association, which supports four key areas of the school: facilities, community, bursaries & learnerships, and charitable outreach.
Thanks to the generosity of Herschel families, the Parents' Association has helped fund a range of worthwhile projects over the past two years. These initiatives wouldn’t be possible without the continued support of our wonderful parent community.
Facilities
While school fees cover most running costs, they leave little room for facility upgrades. Continued investment is essential for Herschel to remain a world-class learning environment.
In 2024, the Pre-Prep bathroom facilities were refurbished to create a cleaner and more functional environment for the youngest learners. The space now includes updated fixtures and child-friendly design features.

As the PA, we’re making a clearer distinction between fundraising events and those focused on building community. Events like the Carnival and Family Picnic are now funded by the PA and no longer carry fundraising expectations.

The PA partnered with Zonnebloem Girls’ Primary School, assisting with the installation of Wi-Fi to improve digital access for learners and staff. We've also committed to supporting Zonnebloem with operating costs for the next three years to assist them as they get started.
